2021 Bucket List

We have nearly done it! We only have a month and a half left of 2020. To me, it felt like it went very quick, that is because I have barely done anything all year. I mean I have marathoned Gilmore Girls, Buffy, The OC, Reign, Once upon a Time.. and I wish the list stopped there but it could go on.

There have been some good parts of this year, great parts even. However I am not going to try and sugar coat it just because it’s nearly over. Time to just let December happen and look forward to 2021.

So in that spirit, I have created my Bucket List for next year. I thought it might help inspire me. Saying that, it was hard work. It kept turning into more of a To Do list, with things like ‘buy a laptop’ or ‘get out of my overdraft’ trying to sneak their way on.

Compare that to the bucket list I made when I was a teenager with 100 items, such as ‘dye my hair multicoloured’ or ‘go skydiving’. You can really see that the past few years have killed my zest for life slightly.

I actually did do the multi coloured hair thing back in 2014 and loved it

Anyway, enough of that. It may have taken some time but I have created a bucket list for 2021. I tried to include a variation of items, some more ambitious and some that can be completed even in a possible third lockdown.

Once I squashed the need to add house hold chores onto the list I actually felt quite inspired and begun to dream big. Have a read, I hope it will inspire you too. I encourage you all to make your own 2021 bucket list, it helped me feel more optimistic about the year to come.

  1. Go to a spa
Drinking a glass of bubbly whilst soaking in a hot tub with your best pals, going from sea weed wrap to hot stone massage to facial. I have never been to a spa and if I only get to do one of these things in 2021, the spa will be it.

  2. Go to a festival
You know, I have never been to a festival. When I was in school I never had the money and when I left school I was travelling and prioritised my money for that. One day, I will go to a festival, maybe 2021 will be the year.

This has been a goal of mine as long as I can remember.

  15. Go to a hot spring in Tuscany
I have just been craving all things Italian recently
  16. Catch up with old friends
A combination of covid and the RIDICULOUS public transport system in the UK has prevented me from going home in a whole year. In 2021, I will get home to Newcastle, even if I have to hike there.
  17. Go on a date in Paris
The time has come again, every now and then I just get a strong desire to go to the Eiffel Tower and eat a pastry by the Seine. That time is coming shortly. Have you read about my last time there? Paris on a Shoestring.
  18. Summer Solstice at Stonehenge.
I went to Winter Solstice with my Godmother when I was younger and it was magical. I have wanted to try Summer Solstice ever since.

One of my earliest travel experiences.
  19. Watch a play at Shakespeares Globe
The theatre nerd in me will never die.

  45. Go cliff jumping
  46. Spend a day in York
I have spent many hours at the train station because it always seems to be the place where my train decides to break down – another shout out to the fabulous transport system across the UK. I would love to one day explore the city.
