The Japanese House announces new album ‘In the End It Always Does’

Having marked her return with ‘Boyhood’ last month, The Japanese House has now announced details of her forthcoming new album, and shared another new cut from it. Written towards the end of 2021, her second album ‘In the End It Always Does’ is due for release on 30th June via Dirty Hit, is set to be twelve tracks in length and saw her work alongside producer and engineer Chloe Kraemer, as well as The 1975’s Matty Healy and George Daniel, MUNA’s Katie Galvin and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. It follows on from her 2019 debut ‘Good At Falling’ and her 2020 EP ‘Chewing Cotton Wool’. The record explores Amber’s experiences of moving to Margate and being in a throuple, before the relationship came to an end: “[These two people] were together for six years and I met them and then we all fell in love at the same time – and then one of them left,” Amber Bain explains, in a press release. “It was a ridiculously exciting start to a relationship. It was this high… And then suddenly I’m in this really domestic thing, and it’s not like there was other stuff going on – it was lockdown.” Check out the tracklisting below. Watch it below. “I wrote ‘Sad To Breathe’ some time ago, it’s one of the oldest songs on the record,” Amber says. “It was very different back then; it’s gone from being solely electronic to what it is now, mostly live/ acoustic instrumentation. It’s about that desperate feeling when someone leaves you and the disbelief that they could. It’s funny you could have those kind of insane dramatic thoughts, that feel so real at the time, but can by some miracle look back in fondness to your entire life being ruined.
