Paul McCartney Joins Nirvana Reunion At ‘12.12.12 Concert For Sandy Relief’

Debuted new song ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ from the Dave Grohl produced and directed film, ‘Sound City’.

The pairing of an ex-Beatle and the remaining members of Nirvana took place last night at Madison Square Garden in New York, during the ‘12.12.12 Concert for Sandy Relief’.

Paul McCartney introduced the band by telling the story of some recent jamming sessions he took part in, and the slow realisation dawning on him that he was, in fact, witnessing the reunion of one of the most influential bands of the 90s. The quartet of Macca, Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear took to the stage to play a new number, ‘Cut Me Some Slack’, a bluesy track that could be mistaken for the sibling of The Beatles’ own ‘Helter Skelter’.

The new song is taken from the soundtrack of the Dave Grohl directed and produced film, ‘Sound City’, about the legendary Van Nuys studio in California. The film is set to premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
