MGMT share a new video for ‘Me and Michael’

‘Little Dark Age’ is out tomorrow!

MGMT have just rounded off a tour of Europe are set to release their new album ‘Little Dark Age’ tomorrow (9th February) – hurrah!

Before that though, they’ve got just a little bit of time to squeeze in a new video for the soaring, anthemic ‘Me and Michael’. Bear with us here, there’s a little bit of a mind-bending concept behind it. So in the clip – directed by Joey Frank and Randy Lee Maitland – MGMT find shedloads of success after stealing a tune written by Truefaith, a rock band from the Philippines. And yeah: Truefaith are very much an established band in their own right and they’ve recorded their own version of ‘Me and Michael’ (called ‘Ako at Si Michael’) and have shot their own video for it too!

In the psychedelic video itself, MGMT actually have a bit of a hard time, getting refused entry to clubs, having magazines with themselves on the cover burned and at one point literally getting flushed down the loo…

MGMT are also set for various festivals this summer, including Rock Werchter, NOS Alive and Mad Cool.
