Lauran Hibberd drops video for recent single ‘Mary’

Today, Isle of Wight’s Lauran Hibberd has revealed a new video to accompany her recent single ‘Mary’, a bouncing slice of addictive pop-punk which Lauran says is her “favourite song I’ve ever written, it’s the soundtrack to a great day”.

Sharing more behind the scenes details, she has revealed that the video was “filmed on a day off from tour, in LA - with some extremely cool people, we managed to recreate my double date. Of course, my double date was a more washed out, Wetherspoons coded version - but you get the drift. This is my favourite video I have ever made, it reminds me of videos I grew up on and captures a nostalgia which I constantly crave when making music. Drenched in 90’s and early noughties references, the video is an exact play by play of the day I met ‘Mary’ - aka the best day ever. Directed by the AMAZING Richelle Chen.”

‘Mary’ follows on from Lauran’s summer single ‘Honda Civic’ and the poignant track ‘I Suck A Grieving’, all of which are set to feature on her upcoming second album ‘Girlfriend Material’ (out on 22nd March 2024 via Virgin Records).

I think i’m at a point in my life where I’ve started to really experience ‘life’, with going through losing a parent, having a life altering break up, living on my own for the first time, and exploring who the ‘f*vk’ i actually am. Everything I am right now is in this album. It’s the best thing I’ve ever made, and I’ve worked with some incredible people in the process.
