Kassa Overall details new album ‘Animals’

Set for release on 26th May via Warp Records, Kassa Overall is sharing the details for his new album ‘Animals’. The record is set to feature guest collaborators including Laura Mvula, Danny Brown, Wiki, Lil B, Ishmael Butler of Shabazz Palaces, and both established and rising jazz stars like Vijay Iyer and Tomoki Sanders. “We call ourselves humans, right? But we kind of do animalistic shit towards each other,” Kassa says. “We justify immorality by almost stripping people of their humanity. He’s an animal, so we can treat him as such. All these different kinds of little questions in these songs point to questions about humanity: am I free? Or am I a circus animal? These questions intersect with the way I think about race.” Alongside the album news, Kassa is sharing new single ‘Make My Way Back Home’ featuring Nick Hakim and longtime friend and collaborator Theo Croker.
