Beyoncé’s ‘Daddy Lessons’ was rejected by the Grammys Country Committee

She’s still nominated for a whopping nine awards.

Earlier this week, Beyoncé led the charge for this year’s Grammy Awards, scooping up a mightily impressive total of nine nominations.

She’s been nominated for the big gongs, including Record of the Year for ‘Formation’, and Album of the Year for ‘Lemonade’, and she’s the first artist to have ever been nominated in four different genre categories in a single year. However, it seems that Queen B was also looking to scoop an award for either Best Country Song or Best Country Solo Performance for ‘Daddy Lessons’.

According to Billboard, the shot-kickin’ roots number from ‘Lemonade’ was submitted into the country categories but the country committee for the Grammys rejected the track. That’s despite Bey performing the song with the Dixie Chicks at the Country Music Association Awards last month and the tune being defended by numerous country stars. Okay…
